VRAM – Virtual Reality Aided Modeler
abstract
VRAM is a fully immersive, three-dimensional exploration and modeling tool. It is designed to intuitively view and manipulate Virtual Reality (VR) worlds. The system can be configured to meet the needs of almost any applicational field in which VRAM will be used. All user interface aspects are highly adaptable, very different "interface skins" can be developed in a very short time for many users and/or customers.main features
- uses the widely available VRML97 standard for data in- and export
- supports monoscopic, active and passive stereo viewing (monitors, head-mounted displays, immersive and non-immersive projection screens)
- supports 6DOF tracking system Polhemus Fastrak
- uses Polhemus Stylus or 3Ball for interaction
- can be used in a desktop setup using conventional mouse and keyboard
- runs on a variety of hardware platforms from Notebook PCs up to SGI high-end workstations like Onyx
- supports animated Virtual Worlds
- menu interfaces can be individually configured by non-programmers using the open interface architecture based on VRML97
